Thrust onto the world stage without a stable roster or a single tournament win to their name, the GIANTS nevertheless had the full support of their well-established organization behind them. Highlighting its early LCS season with an astonishing upset victory over the powerhouse Gambit BenQ, the Spanish roster encountered crippling difficulties once its starting champion lineup began drawing targeted bans. Suddenly forced to adapt their play style and tactics in the midst of the harshest competitive esports environment Europe has to offer, the GIANTS' sparse yet impressive victories were not enough to halt their gradual fall to No. 7 in the standings. Whether they can rally and reenact their moments of outstanding competition against the hungry Challenger teams of the Summer Promotion Tournament will ultimately decide their fate.
GIANTS! Gaming is a multi-gaming Spanish organization that made its first foray into competitive League of Legends in July of 2012. Recruiting five Spanish players to form its starting roster, none of the original lineup remained past September. With a completely new team put together mere months before the EU Qualifier, the GIANTS took another risky move at the end of October by releasing their AD Carry Motroco from the roster. With substitute AD Carry Jimbownz joining their roster temporarily, few anticipated a strong showing from the GIANTS, and fewer still thought they would emerge victorious. But as the dust settled on the second day of competition, the GIANTS had a flawless 4-0 record and a pro contract in the European Season 3 League of Legends Championship Series.
